# Expert tips:

01 -
  • The crunch is loud and satisfying, the kind that makes people go back for seconds before the main course even hits the table.
  • It works with nearly any combination of vegetables you have wilting in the fridge.
  • The dressing strikes a balance between tangy, sweet, and creamy without being heavy.
02 -
  • Salt the cabbage too early and you will end up with a watery puddle at the bottom of the bowl, so dress it close to serving time.
  • The honey measurement is a starting point, and depending on your vinegar and mustard, you may want slightly more or less to balance the flavor.
03 -
  • A mandoline slicer makes quick work of the bell pepper and carrots, but watch your fingertips because it will not care about your dinner plans.
  • Full fat yogurt and a good quality mayonnaise make a dressing that tastes homemade rather than store bought.
